How to setup a hotfolder

Configuration of a Hotfolder

_ Hotfolder path: _

The Hotfolder path defines, where the PDF files shall be dropped into for conversion. FlipBooks for this Hotfolder will be output.

  • folder is publicly readable

    • or
  • you have a defined a Windows Service User with the appropiate rights

_ Output folder path: _

The output folder path defines, where the converted FlipBooks for this Hotfolder will be output.

Ensure that

  • folder is publicly writeable

    • or
  • you have a defined a Windows Service User with the appropiate rights

_ Hotfolder configuration file: _

The configuration file holds all relevant information on how the final FlipBook shall look. It defines all user interface definitions, table of contents, logos, backgrounds, etc. see section„ Configuration manual"

Note: you have to first define the input / output folders, click on „Save" and only then you will be able to change the configuration.

Clicking on „Edit configuration" button opens a user interface which will let you modify the current configuration file.

To start out with the default configuration file again, click on „Copy from default"

LOG

Logging

FVXHF creates log files, which contain information on the publishing processes, success and error messsages.

For this reason two different kind of logs exist.

The general log file contains details on Command Line Tool status and general FVXHF status.

The Hotfolder log file contains details on the publishing process.
